After getting licensed to be a lending officer in the spring of 2019, Leah left to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. She returned to Pagosa 2,600 miles later and signed on at Best of Pagosa Springs to wet her feet in the real estate industry.
Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Leah moved to Pagosa Springs in 2016.
Graduating with a 4.1 GPA, Leah attended Warner Pacific College in Portland, Oregon with full ride athletic and academic scholarships. Twice she represented WPC at the NAIA National Championships in Track and Field, competing in the 10K and marathon.
After finishing college in 2012 Leah moved to Tennessee to pursue white water rafting. She became a certified guide, and swift water rescuer.
Later relocating to Colorado, she spent time working at an independent bookstore in Telluride and learned to love winter sports. She has experience teaching English as a Second Language, PE, and Creative Writing to both children and adults in the community.
Her foothold in Pagosa Springs was fostered as a staff writer at the Pagosa SUN, and a server at Riff Raff Brewing Company. Leah has organized countless creative writing workshops and continues to participate in poetry readings as a fundraiser at the local charter school.
She sat for 2 years as Steering Committee Secretary at Pagosah Unitarian Universal Fellowship, and volunteers on multiple CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farms in the area.
She has found a passion in local food systems, and traditional cooking techniques. One must always be suspect of what ever fermented dish she brings to the potluck. She’ll be sure to brag about how many days this particular meal simmered in the crockpot.
An avid outdoorswoman, Leah still chases the sunrise every morning, but she has found a new sense of satisfaction tucking into her desk each day and being part of the team at Best of Pagosa Springs.
